It was personal experience of acupuncture that first inspired Finnish-born Jopi Parviainen to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. He now has over twenty years’ experience as a TCM therapist, which he combines with the expertise in Western medicine he previously acquired as a qualified care professional HF.

After graduating as a care professional HF and working for several years in Western healthcare, Jopi Parviainen turned his full attention to Traditional Chinese Medicine. He trained as a TCM therapist and completed a range of internships at TCM practices in Switzerland and China. He was awarded the federal naturopathy diploma in TCM, specializing in acupuncture, tuina massage and herbal therapy.

For Jopi Parviainen, working in TCM is a vocation. His day starts with meditation and qigong exercises, filling him with positive energy as he cares for his patients. During his career as a healthcare professional he also developed an understanding of conventional medicine. This enables him to apply insights from Western medicine and patients’ experiences with conventional treatments to his TCM therapies.

Jopi Parviainen is proficient in all the methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He draws on this wide experience to treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system, pain from a variety of causes, psychosomatic conditions such as stress and sleep disorders, and mental illness. His expertise also covers neurological conditions and internal medicine. In the area of oncology, his holistic approach involves a combination of treatments specially tailored to the needs of the individual patient alongside conventional medicine.

Jopi Parviainen has a real talent for languages: he speaks German, English, Spanish and Swedish, and is learning Mandarin. His native language is Finnish.

“For me, it’s essential to listen carefully to my patients and explain my approach in a way that enables them to actively engage with the therapy and help shape it.”
